In July 2019, Silicon Valley JAPAN G.K., started providing support for foreign international companies to expand in Japan, has been selected as a startup school program run by Y Combinator and Silicon Valley JAPAN has been graduated from Y-Combinator Startup School 2019 Winter Batch. Building relationships of trust with entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley and beyond, unique projects are underway in the tech, culture and education fields.

Prior to the establishment of Silicon Valley JAPAN, our founder Tomoyuki Maeda was the first local employee in Japan for the largest tv/video advertising technology company in the world. Tomo had been instrumental of growth in the Japanese market, he promoted the adoption of technology not only in Japan but also across APAC 13 market. Prior, Tomoyuki worked as a starting member of the NTT Group’s new video platform business from 2005 to 8 years. Tomoyuki also had experience as Executive Marketing Director for a joint venture with California luxury manufacture that led to success.

Tomoyuki Maeda earned Master of Science degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the HEC Paris where he is also a counsel of HEC Paris Japan Alumni.
He earned B.A. degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington, Bothell where he act as Country Head for the School of Business Alumni Board in Japan.
